Alan Steinfeld Interviews Deepak Chopra

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

New Realities (www.newrealities.tv) interviews Deepak Chopra about his book “The Love Poems of Rumi”. There are some beautiful moments here.

Deepak is a best-selling author of numerous books dealing with meditation, healing and new age consciousness.

This interview revolves around one of Chopra’s latest works - the Love Poems of a Rumi. In the interview Chopra discusses his views on “Love” and “God”.

For those of you interested in learning more, here’s a description of the book from Amazon.

Born Jalal ad-Din Mohammad Balkhi in Persia early in the thirteenth century, the poet known as Rumi (named after the city where he lived) composed works of mysticism and desire that inspired countless people in his own time and throughout the centuries. His poems expressed the deepest longings of the human heart for its beloved, for that transcendent intimacy which is the source of the divine.

This slender, beautiful volume consists of new translations by Farsi scholar Fereydoun Kia, edited by Deepak Chopra to evoke the rich mood and music of Rumi’s love poems. Exalted yearning, ravishing ecstasy, and consuming desire emerge from these poems as powerfully today as they did on their creation more than 700 years ago.

Qi Gong Healing by Burt Goldman, "The American Monk"

Friday, February 16th, 2007

We dug up an old video of Burt Goldman, the famous Silva Method instructor and master of multiple healing arts. In this 4 minute video, Burt explains the Chinese art of Qi Gong and demonstrates how he uses it to heal a lady of a persistent pain in the knee.

Burt explains that all healing comes from within - he is not the healer - he simply lets the lady’s own mind do the trick.

He explains that the best healings occur fast - within seconds.

What I found remarkable about the clip is how fast it took Burt to actually apply the Qi Gong healing to his subject.

Watch it and learn from a master.

Some Hot New Info on Burt

By the way, Burt Goldman just turned 80 years old!

And a new site is being launched where Burt is going to start sharing his years of teachings and wisdom with the world.

PS - Burt’s main site is www.GoldmanMethod.com. I highly recommend his Goldman Reality Field Kit.

Seeding the Prosperity Bank

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

by Dikki Jo Mullen

Editors Note: I found the following article on seeding the prosperity bank thanks to a link in the Silva UltraMind online community. It’s wonderfully written and helps remind us of a few important universal truths.

While reading through the stack of magazines at the neighborhood coin laundry recently, I came across an especially provocative and interesting list. It was a study of each of the world’s nations in terms of desirability and standard of living. Of course, the United States was number one, with Canada and Australia as two and three respectively. Way down at the bottom were the poor, miserable African nations of Afghanistan and Chad, while the USSR and other Eastern European nations hovered near the middle of the list. The study included a sort of graph, showing how just owning a pair of shoes can make one a wealthy man or woman in some countries, while the wealth we take for granted, such as hot and cold water, plenty of food, and 24 hour TV and radio entertainment are perhaps not fully appreciated by many of us.

It is important to remember spiritual teachings regarding the prosperity bank. What we focus on we make real, and it is very dangerous to fear not having enough or to repeatedly state that we’re “broke.” What we imagine we can make real, and the sophistication of our minds can make our thoughts more powerful and more energized than we might consciously realize. Thinking and speaking in a positive way about our lifestyles, jobs, etc… is an essential step in metaphysical wisdom. As the Bible says, “What I have feared, hath come upon me.”

To develop prosperity consciousness, first remember that prosperity adores a prosperous attitude. Instead of complaining about writing checks for monthly bills, start by giving thanks that you have the funds to cover them. Arrange the bills in your wallet with the highest denomination on top, ones at the bottom, then fold them toward you saying this simple but effective blessing: “Divine Love through me blesses and increases all that I receive.” Dollar bills are rich in metaphysical symbolism; they represent energy and effort. It can be surprisingly effective to try this little blessing technique. Experiment and see!

Meanwhile, stop thinking of yourself as broke.

Even kings and queens a few generations back lacked the comforts that we have in even a modest home in the United States and Canada. Try soaking in a scented bubble bath and playing soft soothing music in the background at the end of a challenging day. Revel in the luxury and richness of this inexpensive pleasure. Upon enjoying fresh, hot coffee or tea in the morning before work, appreciate the ease and richness of this relatively inexpensive pleasure.

Overcome the poverty consciousness that imprisons so many of us by applying a few basic steps. These are common to a variety of spiritual schools of thought and self-help courses, and will really work if you give them a chance.

1. Decide what you really want, then write down your goals.

Make a simple and specific list. Defining what we want is essential to achieving it. Statistics quoted by the Silva Mind Control teachings tell us that among a group of Harvard University graduates, those with written and defined goals were far and away more successful financially than their counterparts who tended to drift.

2. Develop faith and confidence.

A negative attitude is dangerous. Many people who experienced lack during the years of the Great Depression became misers, unable to enjoy the fruits of their labors in later years. Charles Dicken’s classic tale of Scrooge in A Christmas Carol illustrates how Scrooge changed his life and actually became richer after loosening his purse strings. Keep the money flowing outward, within reasonable bounds of course. Use it to bring pleasure to yourself and others. Prosperity adores a prosperous attitude. One economist recently suggested that the way to avoid a recession was for all of us to spend everything we have. For example, if you spend a few dollars for a meal out and leave a tip for the waitress, she might spend the money on a new pair of shoes at the store where your brother is a clerk. Then, earning commission on the sale, he’d have extra money to circulate. You get the idea.

3. Persistence is important in building prosperity.

Focus on how this trait can enhance respect and power.

4. Use your imagination and think of ways to enhance prosperity.

Try to turn a hobby into a second income or use your insight at the office to make significant improvements. Creativity is a gift that can be either positive or negative, depending on its slant. A little research uncovers incredible success stories through the use of a creative inspiration. Maybe you can be another Colonel Sanders or Coca Cola entrepreneur.

5. Organize for prosperity.

Do some career research and planning, prepare some long term goals. Form a “master mind” group and meet to help each other imagine and envision the goals. Do this together over a period of several months and you’ll be delighted at the results. The group’s focused good will and energy is a powerful healing tool in overcoming the bonds of poverty. A few months back six friends and I began using a basic metaphysical formula for master minding with a group. We’ve all enjoyed a renewed richness and success in our lives. We sat in a circle, then each took a turn describing to the group what we wanted, while everyone expressed positive thoughts and visions of the desired result. I remember one man talking about replacing his old blue Oldsmobile with a new silver LTD. Last week he drove over in the new auto, just as we’d visualized it. The power for good in this simple technique is chilling and provocative. Experiment and see!

Poverty is not a virtue, it is a sin! Divine intelligence put the riches of the world near us to be appreciated and enjoyed. The true words of the axiom “money is the root of all evil” were really “lack of money is the root of all evil!” So use metaphysical techniques to be merry and enjoy. Carpe Diem!

Reiki Therapy

Friday, January 19th, 2007

What is Reiki Therapy?

Reiki is a gentle Japanese technique of laying on of hands to bring energy into the body for deep relaxation and a sense of well-being. Reiki is performed through a technique similar to the laying on of hands.

Developed in the early 1900’s by Mikao Usui in Japan. It is an art that is passed from Master to student. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words - Rei and Ki, meaning Universal Life Force Energy. The term “Reiki” is used to describe both the energy and the Usui system of using it. The original system by Usui was called Usui Reiki Ryoho. There are many variant’s of Reiki being practiced these days.

Mikao Usui claimed to have discovered Reiki after long meditation, fasting, and prayer. Usui wrote that by mystical revelation he had gained the knowledge and spiritual power to apply and attune others to what he called Reiki. Mikao Usui said that he had the ability to enable people to enhance their access to the energy through certain initiations.

Although Reiki started in Japan - it died out as an art in Japan in the mid-20th century. Fortunetly, practioners had brough it to Hawaii by that time.

From a small community in Hawaii, the art spread worldwide. Reiki is now one of the fastest growing and most popular healing arts practices worldwide.

My Experience

I took a Reiki course in New York in 2000. I can’t remember by teachers name but the course was wonderful. In 15 hours, spread over 2 days, you learn the art of channeling “life force” through your hands and onto the body of someone requesting healing.

The person experiencing the healing usually reports a feeling of a tingling sensation or warmtn emanating from the healer’s hand.

According to Reiki-Therapy.net

A Reiki treatment is one-hour long and is useful for specific healing or general relaxation. This is the perfect way to spoil yourself! The treatments are individually tailored to the client’s needs and condition. The practitioner rests hands for a few minutes on specific areas of the body (head, torso, legs and back) allowing energy to pass through into the client The client remains fully clothed at all times and may experience different bodily sensations. Some feel the “electricity” passing through various limbs or tingling or warm sensations, some smell scents, see visions, some feel as if they have reverted to the safety of the womb and some just fall asleep. Whatever you might feel these are merely side effects of the healing process and it is best to enter a treatment with no expectations.

The healer feels the same tingling sensation (at least I did). But I kept asking myself - Is this real or am I just imagining things?

One things for sure - a lot of people swear by Reiki Therapy.

If you’re looking for a form of complementary healing therapy, I strongly recommmend it.

I combine Reiki Therapy with Silva Techniques for maximum results. It’s helped me overcome lots of minor health issues.

The God Theory

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

Can you beleive in the creation of the universe,  the Big Bang and God?

Can you beleive in spirituality AND science.

The answer is yes.

Bestsellers by Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris have denounced the evils of religion and proclaimed that science has proven that there is no God. Their angry accusations are partially correct.

Religions have been used to justify crimes against humanity: witness the Inquisition of centuries past or the sectarian slaughter in the Mideast today.

Religions are indeed a problem.

But the human misuse of religions and the existence of God are very different matters.

What then, is God?

Bernard Haisch, Ph.D., is an astrophysicist and author of over 130 scientific publications. In his new book, The God Theory he proposes the following:

A remarkable discovery has emerged in astrophysics: that key properties of the Universe have just the right values to make life possible. Most scientists prefer to explain away this uniqueness, insisting that a huge, perhaps infinite, number of unseen universes must therefore exist, each randomly different from the other. That way ours only appears special because we could not exist in any of the other hypothetical universes.

I propose the alternative that the special properties of our universe reflect an underlying intelligence, one that is consistent with the Big Bang and Darwinian evolution. Both views are equally logical and beyond proof. However exceptional human experiences and accounts of mystics throughout the ages do suggest that we live in a purposeful universe. In The God Theory I speculate on what that purpose might be… what that purpose means for our lives… how it might explain the riddle of evil.

View this Four minute video discussing why it is possible to believe in both science and God, a God that is compatible with the Big Bang and evolution.

Is there a plausible purpose behind the Universe consistent with modern astrophysics? And when we discover the reason - will religion become obsolete and give away to Science and Spirituality?

The Boy Who Lived Before

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

By YVONNE BOLOURI, September 08, 2006, The Sun

LITTLE Cameron Macaulay was a typical six-year-old, always talking about his mum and family.

He liked to draw pictures of his home too — a long single-storey, white house standing in a bay.

But it sent shivers down his mum’s spine — because Cameron said it was somewhere they had never been, 160 miles away from where they lived.

And he said the mother he was talking about was his “old mum.”

Convinced he had lived a previous life Cameron worried his former family would be missing him.

The Glasgow lad said they were on the Isle Of Barra.

Mum Norma, 42, said: “Ever since Cameron could speak he’s come up with tales of a childhood on Barra.

“He spoke about his former parents, how his dad died, and his brothers and sisters.

“Eventually we just had to take him there to see what we could find.

“It was an astonishing experience.”

Cameron’s journey to find his previous life is now the subject of a spooky TV documentary.

Norma said: “His dad and I are no longer together but neither of our families have ever been to the island.

“At first we just put his stories down to a vivid imagination.” Then life took a more sinister turn as Cameron started to become distressed at being away from his Barra family.

Norma said: “It was awful and went on for years.

“When he started nursery his teacher asked to see me and told me all the things Cameron was saying about Barra. He missed his mummy and his brothers and sisters there.

“He missed playing in rockpools on the beach beside his house.

“And he complained that in our house there was only one toilet, whereas in Barra, they had three.

“He used to cry for his mummy. He said she’d be missing him and he wanted to let his family in Barra know he was all right.

“It was very distressing. He was inconsolable.”

“He wouldn’t stop talking about Barra, where they went, what they did and how he watched the planes landing on the beach from his bedroom window.

“He even said his dad was called Shane Robertson, who had died because ‘he didn’t look both ways.’

“I assume he means knocked over by a car but he never says that.

“One day his nursery teacher told me a film company were looking for people who believed they had lived before.

“She suggested I contact them about Cameron. My family were horrified. There was a lot of opposition to it. I’m a single parent so it was me and Cameron’s brother Martin, who is only a year older than him, who were being badly affected by this.

Interview with Larry Plato

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

Jacob of Mind-Energy.net recently interviewed Larry Plato, a graduate of several Silva seminars and one of the experienced voices on the Silva UltraMind community on Yahoo.com.

Here is the unedited inteview where Larry discusses his experiences with Silva and the events in his life that lead to his interest in spirituality.

1. Can you tell when and how you came to know of the Silva Method and why have you studied it?

I was working as a Locomotive Engineer coming into Port Huron, Michigan. We were staying at the Huron Hotel and there were some classes being held there. I talked with the Instructor during several brakes and found when the next class was being held, and made arrangements to attend.

As to why? All my life I have had strange thing happen and at that time I was looking for answers.

2. What benefits did you experience from the Silva Method in the short term after taking the course?

Better working relationships, My wife had left on 5 April 1974 and taken our 4 children to Houston, Texas. and in the spring of 75 asked for a divorce. I filed and on October 5 of 1975 was granted a divorce and I was given custody of the children. In July I took my eleven year old son to Port Huron and another Silva Class Which was very helpful for me and his mother.

3. How did Silva Method influence your life in the long term?

Being able to pick up thoughts from others. I became certified to teach the Silva relaxation seminars and was verbally authorized by Jose Silva to use the first half of the Basic Lecture series in my relaxation seminars. It made life better by being able to solve problems before they became problems.

The Past Life Memories of Children: Scientist can no longer ignore the Evidence

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

Is Reincarnation Real? The evidence is so compelling that it cannot be ignored by any rational mind. Even noted skeptic Carl Sagan declared that reincarnation, because of the evidence being generated, merits further scientific study.

The following article is about one such Scientist and his studies on reincarnation and past lives. You be the judge.

Psychiatrist Jim B. Tucker studies past-life memories of children
from SFGate.com

No one knows for sure what happens to us after death. But Dr. Jim Tucker is trying to find out.

ga_fmr_tucker.jpg

Tucker is medical director of the Child and Family Psychiatric Clinic at the University of Virginia. He also works at the university’s Division of Perceptual Studies, which scientifically investigates paranormal phenomena such as near-death experiences, ghosts and reincarnation.

His book “Life Before Life: A Scientific Investigation of Children’s Memories of Previous Lives” (St. Martin’s Press, 2005) tries to verify statements from children who claim to have had past-life experiences. The work continues the research of Dr. Ian Stevenson, who began studying children’s apparent past-life recollections 45 years ago at the University of Virginia.

It’s controversial terrain for a scientist, but Tucker takes his work quite seriously. The book has been heralded as “a first-rate piece of research” by Harvard biologist Michael Levin, and Booklist described it as “powerful grounds for credulous speculation.” I spoke with him recently by phone from his office in Charlottesville, Va.
